Hey, Europe! Great news—we've added a new direct importer provider (Plaid) for connections across the pond. That means YNAB can now automatically import transactions from more banks in more countries across Europe. Broader coverage means more up-to-date information at your fingertips so you can spend more confidently than ever. Cheers to that!

We all know that cash and credit spending are different, so now those two account types are separated in the Accounts area. Cash accounts like checking accounts, savings accounts, and, well, actual cash are grouped together and credit accounts like credit cards and lines of credit are grouped separately. Like oil and water, square pegs and round holes, or pineapple and pizza, some things don't go together.

Cover overspending faster than you can say "slider toggle." With this update, now you can move money between categories in one swift motion on your iPhone, because we’re all about fewer taps and more control. And we also love a good green-bubble dopamine rush when we get a category back on track.

Introducing YNAB Templates, the “why didn’t we think of this sooner?” tool for simplifying the financial side of life’s biggest moments. Whether you’re planning a wedding, prepping for a new baby, or giving your home a facelift, our pre-built templates take all the guesswork out of making a plan. Spending Breakdown has made its colorful entrance in the web app! It has replaced the Spending Totals report but kept all of the same functionality.

There are also some new upgrades:

• Toggle between categories and category groups, to reflect on your spending at different levels.
• See the breakdown by category or group as a percentage, making it crystal clear how your spending priorities compare to one another.
• Check out the new look for Net Worth and Spending Trends.

Welcome to the Reflect tab! Spending money has never been this fun. Picture your new Spending Breakdown like a closet that’s just been reorganized. Suddenly, you might notice an overabundance of blue collared shirts, but only a single pair of jeans. Likewise, with the Spending Breakdown, you might notice a glut of home expenses but the date night category spending is looking surprisingly light. With these insights, you might buy a few less things on Amazon this month, or immediately schedule that much-needed date night. This playful view helps you tweak your plan and actions to find the perfect balance

We’ve also renamed the Reports tab to Reflect to capture the heart of what we want for you in YNAB. Just like a quick smile in the mirror shows you if you have chia seeds stuck in your teeth, reflecting on your spending helps you see where your money is going and make adjustments if needed.

Tired of mousing your way around YNAB? Looking for ways to update your spending plan in record time? Look no further! We’ve just added a full suite of keyboard shortcuts to YNAB on the web. If there’s a shortcut available for the action you’re taking, this handy-dandy notation will appear (check out the full list in Settings). Pretty soon, you’ll be YNABing like a cyber whiz from a 90s hacker movie!

Targets are at the heart of many successful YNAB spending plans. They help you gain a clear view of your monthly financial needs, so you can build the life you want! With our latest update, we’ve made targets simpler and easier to use than ever. 

Anytime you edit or add a new target, YNAB will now present you with a clear, plain-language process that lets you choose exactly how you want the targets to function without needing to memorize a series of detailed target types. Just tell the app what you want to do, and YNAB will handle all the complexities behind the scenes.

With this update, we have not removed any functionality. All your existing targets will continue to function in exactly the same way they did before. And you’ll even see an expansion of some of our cadence options and some tweaks to progress bars and the target inspector that will help you visualize progress toward your savings goals. 

A simplified and more-intuitive target configuration flow, target inspector, and progress bars will ensure YNABers create the right target for their needs and stay prepared for every expense.

The way you spend your money is a reflection of your priorities, and it should move as fast as you do. With our latest (ahem, HUGE) news, connecting your actual spending to YNAB has never been easier, faster, or more thrilling. Drumroll please…

You can now seamlessly import your Apple Card, Apple Cash, and Savings with Apple Card transactions into YNAB!

YNAB is proud to be one of the first apps to offer direct import with Apple Card, Apple Cash, and Savings with Apple Card, making your Apple-centric life a breeze. This new feature means that as you spend and save with your favorite Apple products, your transactions will appear in YNAB almost instantaneously. No manual entry required. 

Imagine: when you open YNAB on your device (running iOS 17.4 or higher), all of your Apple transactions are there, ready to categorize. Just make sure you have updated to the latest iOS and YNAB app versions to access this fruitful feature.

Mint is waving 👋 and YNAB is ready to make moving day easy.

That’s right; we’re here to help you pack up your Mint data. Everyone needs the kind of friend who shows up early with extra boxes 📦—and you don’t even have to pay us with pizza! 

If you’re trying out YNAB as an alternative to Mint, the set up process just got a major upgrade. You can now migrate your categories and average spending amounts from Mint into YNAB in a matter of minutes. Just export your data from Mint, select the "Migrate from... Mint" option in the Settings menu, and follow the prompts. We'll create a new budget with the migrated data, so you don't have to worry about losing any progress you may have already made. 

This migration option is also available for new users at signup so if you have friends that have been on the fence about giving YNAB a try, let them know that we’re ready to help them make the move!
