Hi there! I'm Tara, a book editor, podcast host, and business coach. Through individual coaching and my membership community, the Freelance Editors Club, I empower modern editors to create a business and life they love. My mission stems from over a decade of work as a freelance editor myself and a desire to change the publishing industry’s reputation for being isolated, exclusive, and unbending. My podcast, community, and coaching programs have helped hundreds of editors feel a sense of clarity, belonging, and excitement about their businesses.

I come to a coaching partnership from a place of zero judgment, shame, or guilt. Many of us were never taught how to handle our finances, and that can wreak havoc both in our personal and business lives. It's my mission to help freelances thrive in *all* aspects of their businesses.
Why I Coach
I support, educate, and empower freelance editors to create their own paths in the editing industry in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment. Part of the education I offer is budgeting with variable income — something freelancers know all too well. I've seen so many freelancers struggle with the financial aspect of their businesses, and as a longtime YNAB user, I knew I could help them.
