YNAB subscribers can access their unique link on all platforms. Look for the gift icon!

2. Your friend signs up

When they sign up with your link, your friends will start YNAB with a special 6-week extended trial–no credit card required!

3. Your friend subscribes

You’ll both earn a free month of YNAB when friends subscribe. There’s no limit to the months you can give and earn. We’ll keep track as friends sign up and subscribe, so it’s easy to watch your impact (and your free time) multiply!

What if my friend signs up for a trial but doesn’t subscribe?

Then you need to get better friends—just kidding!—but you won’t get any free time unless they subscribe. But for every friend, family member or frenemy who subscribes through your referral link, you will each get an additional free month of YNAB. Keep up the good work sharing YNAB—the sign-up is half the battle!

If you’ve checked your Account Settings, and you don’t see your free month, just email help@ynab.com and they will right your free-month wrongs!

Is there a limit to the number of free months I can earn?

No limits! If you refer 100 friends who subscribe, we will gladly credit you 100 free months! This is a more the merrier situation!

I paid for an annual subscription—how does that work with a free month?

Any free time will push back your renewal date accordingly. So, one free month will push back your renewal date one month, and so on and so forth. Let’s just say, we hope it’s a good, long time before you have to pay us again!

What if I want to refer someone but I don’t see the referral link?

We’re excited you want to share YNAB! If you’re still using your free trial, you’ll see the link after you subscribe. If you’ve already subscribed and you still don’t see the link, here are some common reasons the link may not be showing up. If you still have issues, email us at help@ynab.com and we’ll help you out.

Do I qualify for the referral program?

If you are subscribed to YNAB, then you can refer friends! The referral program is not available to Financial Wellness by YNAB accounts.

Can I earn free time if I was gifted a subscription?

If you’ve received a gift subscription, your account is not eligible to receive free time through the referral program unless you have a current paid subscription.
